Building History

The settlement Sutz-Lattrigen–Riedstation (Bern) was completely excavated. The houses in this settlement stood with their roof ridges at right angles to the shore. There where paths connecting the landward domestic buildings with the outhouses located closer to the lake. 

Beginning in the spring of 3393 BC, nineteen buildings were systematically erected within a period of five years (see picture above; 3393 BC: red; 3392 BC: yellow; 3391 BC: blue; 3390 BC: green; 3389 BC: pink). The village itself was probably abandoned shortly after 3388 BC.
